Fri Nov 04 2022 10:00AM – 11:00AM | Fri Nov 04 2022

Event Description:

This is a lecture by Mississippi State University, Associate Professor, Dr. Margaret Ralston. The United States population is aging. This demographic shift is triggering new questions about the effect of intergenerational support on later life wellbeing. Through a “linked lives” perspective this study evaluates associations between social support and older adult’s mental wellbeing. This project uses new data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Parent Study. These data allow for the unique opportunity to explore the reciprocal nature of social support and its effect on later life depression.
