Event Description:

Winthrop's newly-revived Creative Writing Club will host events biweekly on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in Bancroft 270. Our events are open to all students who are interested or involved in creative writing, whether short stories, novels, poetry, or creative nonfiction. Events are open to all majors at any level of creative writing proficiency! Setting the Mood(board) Night- 2/19 --A mood board and playlist-making event to get our writers inspired! Freewrite Night- 3/5 --A chance for writers to come together to work on their writing, begin a new piece, or participate in a shared writing prompt. Writer's Workshop- 3/26 --For writers who want to participate in giving and receiving feedback on creative pieces. Members must submit their work on 3/12 in order to participate in this workshop and receive feedback for their work. Writer's Block Party- 4/9 ***Date subject to change! Check our GroupMe for further details. --A celebration of the ups and downs of the writing process! Writers will work together to break through their writer's block on any piece of creative writing, and those who participated in the workshop will have the chance to receive more assistance with their revision. Open Mic Reading Night- 4/23 --Writers will have the opportunity to read aloud, or to hear others read aloud, any piece of creative writing that they have written by themselves, for a class, or for the club. Come celebrate the wonderful work that you and your fellow writers have accomplished!
